Not that I am not having fun, in fact I am having a damn blast most of the time, but I just need more hours in a day - if only I didn't have to sleep! However, all this doing does make me very tired it would seem and I find myself drawn to bed by 10pm most nights these days. Okay, I admit that it may have something to do with the 4.40am rise time, but if I don't get up early it is practically impossible to get enough 'me' time in during the day.
You see, yes I work more hours now, but I also absolutely refuse to let go of any of the good stuff in my life as well, which means there is a reason that I haven't blogged in a while because I am honestly struggling to fit it in. I haven't had a free weekend since mid-August. Not lying - this is totally true; I have had an event, a gathering, a getaway, a catch up or an appointment every single weekend since then. No wonder I need to go to bed at 10pm right?
What I am experiencing is an elevated lifestyle in every respect. I have improved my life experience in every way this year. I get to work, rest and play - every - single - day, but do I have time to blog and talk about cinema as much? No, unfortunately I do not. I also don't get to frequent the cinema as much as I used to as well, so thank god for streaming services in that department, or I'd be screwed. And there are a couple of other things that I definitely don't do as often as I would like as well, but I guess that is what retirement is for right? I am still keeping pretty extensive logs of my viewing pursuits and desires, I still read Empire magazine every month from cover to cover to keep up with all the cinematic goings on. I did see the Emmy Awards and the Fangoria Horror Awards as well and yep, I still host Spicywatch viewings every month here in Enfield, so not all is lost.
But, sure I would be lying if I didn't say that I do miss having a few hours to indulge on my blog every week like I used to, to talk about movies and just bang on about whatever is on my mind, but to be fair, I have had some magical experiencs that do deserve to be talked about since I've been on Spicywatch. Check these bloody gems out:
- Stayed overnight in Bendigo with Freja twice and had her stay here once as well.
- Hosted two Spicywatch movie nights.
- Got my eyes tested and found out that my eye sight has improved - not worsened - total miracle!
- Met two very cool brand new people because two of my friends had babies and I got to cuddle them both!
- Had lunch out with my mum in Ararat.
- Did another paranormal investigation in Ballarat with my peeps.
- Went to my book club group twice and also went to a drag Halloween trivia night with Seth and my mates and we won!
- Went to a yoga festival with Zoe.
- Travelled thousands of kilometres around the state for work and saw incredible sunrises, sunsets, wild animals and got to sleep in huge comfy hotel beds.
- Went to a spiritual workshop day with Zoe.
- Went to the Ballarat Photo Bennaile with Helen.
- Gave out candy on Halloween night, watch horror movies until late and ate too much candy myself - this one was bittersweet.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky, this fast paced action comedy with an all star cast hits all the right notes and will keep you interested right to the end. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the turns that this film took, which I didn't see coming at all, and I was thorouhgly entertained by the criminal antics and non-stop mayhem that ensued.
Hank, an ex-baseballer with a haunted past, is asked to look after his neighbours cat whilst he is out of town attending to his ailing father. Before long, Hank is dragged into a world of trouble and misery as the mobsters, the police and a couple of crazy Druckers all turn up demanding access to his neighbours money; money that Hank has no knowledge about.
It's one crazy scene after another as the bad guys relentlessly and recklessly bash, crash, shoot and burn into each others lives in the pursuit of hidden treasures.
Austin Butler is fabulous as Hank, a man committed to protecting his neighbours kitty at all costs, and he is very well supported by Matt Smith, Regina King, Zoe Kravitz, Liev Schreiber and Vincent D'Onofrio. Overall, this is stylish action with intense fast-paced sequences and strong performances, and it's definietly worth a look.
FINAL SAY: If you can't bite, don't show your teeth.
